The system was a 16 kW double-effect absorption cooling system, powered by solar energy. The design included a 52 m2 parabolic trough solar collectors, a heat exchanger with pumps and control valves, cooling tower integrated with the LiBr/H2O absorption chiller and a natural gas auxiliary heater.
