The project is going to have a solar power capacity of 3,500 megawatts (MW) and a battery storage system with 4,500 megawatt-hour (MWh) of energy storage capacity. The project is supposed to produce electricity for more than 2 million households in the Philippines once it’s full operational in about 3 years (in 2027).

Image by: Actis. The transaction was sealed with MGEN Renewable Energy Inc, a unit of Manila Electric Company (PSE:MER), or Meralco.
The agreement was signed between Actis, Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) and its subsidiary, Solar Philippines New Energy Corp. (SPNEC), which holds a majority stake in the project. According to local reports, Actis has invested $600 million for a 40% stake in the project.
