Can PERC technology be used as bottom cell concept?

Nowadays, the passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) technology makes up the major market share; therefore, it is an attractive option to use the PERC technology as bottom cell concept for a perovskite–silicon tandem device. Long-term optimization of the PERC technology led to highly efficient, low-cost, and mature devices.

How is the PERC rear side modeled?

The PERC rear side is electrically modeled by assuming an effective SRV (SRV = 30 cm/s), which lumps the effect of the local Al BSF contacts and the passivated rear side. Apart from sPERC, all structures are (quasi-)one dimensional. For sPERC, we assume the local contact openings as lines at the front with 30 μm width and vary the contact pitch.

Are changepoints consistent between PERC modules?

The changepoints are very consistently located for the Al-BSF and half-cell PERC modules, however, the full-cell PERC piecewise models fit changepoints across the time range of the system, indicating an inconsistent changepoint trend between modules. FIGURE 6.

How is a PERC solar cell manufactured?
