24VDC Uninterruptible Power Supply (24VDC UPS) has Universal AC input and DC output with battery backup is designed to provide stable power for AVA products and supplies emergency power in the event of a power fault or power failure.
The uninterruptible power supplies have e.g. an adjustable maximum buffer time to protect the battery and the unit protects the battery from going into a deep discharge. Draining the battery all the way down can damage it in a very short period of time, especially if this occurs multiple times.
Another common way of providing a secondary power supply for a fire alarm system is the use of an emergency generator designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with NFPA 110, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, which provides power to the fire alarm system through an automatic transfer switch.
